The fountain is constructed entirely of high grade stainless steel. Inside the base is a heater which keeps the warm pre-melted Belgian chocolate smooth and liquid. A specially designed stainless steel auger inside the tower turns continuously to bring the melted chocolate from the basin to the top of the tower. The rich Belgian chocolate cascades evenly over the tiers and back into the basin.
Belgian chocolate is considered to be the finest in the world. We use only Belgian "couverture" (French for "coating") chocolate, which is a higher quality chocolate used in specialty candy making. The cocoa butter content of couverture chocolate ensures a better taste and a silkier appearance.
Any food that goes well with chocolate may be dipped in the fountain. Popular items for dipping are pretzels, cookies, marshmallows, caramels, dried apricots, maraschino and fresh cherries, apples, bananas, strawberries, pineapple, grapes, nuts, mini-biscotti, piroulines, vienna fingers, angel food cake, and more. (Items that may crumble, such as cake, may fall into the chocolate. Although it will not harm the machine, it can make the chocolate lumpy and unappealing. If your guests would like to experiment, we can help by spooning the chocolate over any undippable items.)
Dipping items can be provided by you, by your caterer, or by Luxor. If you would like for us to provide the dipping items, contact us for selection and pricing, which starts at $2 per guest. We provide quality Belgian chocolate in your choice of rich dark, creamy white, or tasty milk chocolate.
We prefer to stay on hand during your event. However, if you are hosting a small, casual gathering and would be more comfortable without an attendant, we can arrange to remain on call after the initial setup, and return later for cleanup of our equipment.
There will be leftover chocolate because several pounds are needed to keep the fountain flowing smoothly. You can keep the leftover chocolate or we will dispose of it during cleanup.
Chocolate fountains are not suitable for outdoor use in Louisiana. The sweet scent of the warm chocolate attracts small flying insects. Also, it can be difficult to properly regulate the fountain temperature when used outdoors.
We rent our fountains to caterers and individuals. We arrive at least one hour before your event starts to set up the fountain and melt the chocolate so your guests enjoy the sweet smell of warm chocolate as they arrive. We provide an attendant during your event to ensure that everything runs smoothly. After your event, we take down and clean up the fountain.
Our standard prices apply to East Baton Rouge Parish. We also serve surrounding communities, including New Orleans, LaPlace, Covington, Mandeville, Hammond, Gonzales, Denham Springs, Port Allen, and Lafayette.
We accept cash, checks, money orders and credit cards. A $50 deposit is required to hold your date.
